"We now accept the fact that learning is a lifelong process of keeping abreast of change. And the most pressing task is to teach people how to learn."
-- Peter F. Drucker

Cultural Youth seeks to engage children and youth in the mentorship program to accelerate the personal and professional development of mentees. This is achieved by providing mentees with guidance, advice and feedback from mentors with more experience than themselves. Mentoring has also been linked in studies to social-emotional development benefits, improvements in youth perceptions of parental relationships, and better prospects for moving on to higher education.

Youth Connections Unlimited specializes in supporting young people to determine their career path and in their job search. We meet youth where they are at in their work-related journey, and provide support and opportunities so that all young people can reach their potential. Our Career Services team will offer some career and employment programs to support youth ages 15 to 30.

The first step in getting started, is meeting with a Volunteer Career and Employment Counsellor, who can help to assess eligibility and interest in YCU program. Our Employment Counsellor will offer individualized supports with resume building, interview preparation, job shadowing and job searching, and help youth to connect to employment training programs. Our employment training programs help young people to build their skills and confidence around the workplace. Youth can participate in interactive workshops, gain experience within YCU's social enterprises, and receive the support from a Job Developer in finding a paid placement within the community!
